yall know how i feel about 4x2 and 4x4's the 2 go down and 4's go up...just my opinion, and yes i know everyones got em...but 4x2's i think were designed for us street truck guys and 4x4 for yall off roaders....

HammerZ71

I dunno Jay, I agree that a 4x4 should NEVER go down, but I got some good buddies who live on farms who have 4x2s who would bottom out in the fields if they were not lifted and running larger/more aggressive tires (and even a few with true lockers in the rear).

So there are times I can see a lifted 4x2...

ill agree with you on that, but some dont think a truck should be lowered at all and i dont agree with that....

hey my parents have a farm in brooksville, my buddy has a farm and ive actually pulled out numerous 4x4's out from being stuck...lol

Dont knock on a lifted 4x2....

4x4s are fun, i had one, and they are expensive to fix....

The key there is knowing when to STOP and unload the four wheeler ;)

I honestly dont see why anyone would lower a 4x4, to me thats just pointless, although there are some cars that are 4x4 that are built for speed and not offroading, just like the Jeep SRT8, thats a 4x4 but you wouldnt lift that. But honestly i think 4x4 trucks should be lifted, ask for 4x2s, they do look much more sporty lowered. I know many people dont agree with lowering trucks because they loose their functionality but i disagree if you do it the right way.

Exactly!! You make your own car to your own liking, The right way to go on any car build is to do what you like and how you like it, your car or truck is your own and driven by each individual, and since most our trucks here are daily driven i assume, we each have to feel comfortable in our own rides especially considering the amount of time that we spend in it. Dont get me wrong, i love lifted trucks and i also love lowered trucks, if i had the funding for it i would have one of each.

I've contemplated going higher. One reason I went with the 4" Rancho lift and not a 6" is because it leaves the CV axles at the stock angle.
Would have been easy to add a 3" body lift, hell I've put three of 'em on myself before.

But the grill guard would be an issue since the winch mount requires it to be mounted to the frame, so no cheating with brackets like you can do the bumpers. Plus at my height, the angle is about as severe as I care for it to be loading the ATV in the bed. Also, it'd be a BI*CH to load deer and hogs in the bed much higher than it is now, especially since I'm sporting a hernia.

Nope, I guess you guys are gonna tower over my "little" 4 inch lifted truck on 35" tires. LOL...

and someone with a lifted 4x2 ofcourse wont find anything wrong with it lol, the main thing i dont like about the lifted 4x2 isnt much the look cause lifted trucks do look sick but the lack of the front axle, i see them all the time and i always notice it just looks like something is missing up front.

Hammer it looks better than the back half, since mine doesnt have the front!

Naa I got a nice fourwheeler and my lil yota (even though its taller than my Ram) for all the mud and crap...here she is before I finished the flatbed
