Well I received my new grille badge from billet technologies today. Problem is it is not exactly what I wanted. I wanted the word HEMI to be in black. Well I tried to call them twice today and no answer. So I emailed them and am waiting to hear back. I am 100% sure they will get back to me, they must be busy right now.

This is what I got in the mail today.

Now the dilemma, Should I pop this on the truck while I wait for them to get back with me? If they have to make me a new badge that will probably take a month, just like this one took a month. I really wanna put this on the truck right now!

What should i do?

I would leave it in the package until you hear from them. If they are gonna make you a new one, they may want this one back, and if its opened and on the truck...well that may bite you in the butt

You know daniel, if you were to completely debadge your truck, that would would look right at home on there..as the "Hemi" wouldn't stand out as much.

If it is not what you ordered you should send it back. But definitly don't install it. Installing it is only going to make the return/exchange process more difficult.

If its not what you wanted just wait till you talk to them. But either one will look good on your truck. :)

That is NICE, but I see what you mean.... all BLACK would stand out way better, IMO.

Not all black just the letters

Dan, definitely keep calling them, see if they will get another one out to you, if they say it will take another month for them to make another one and want that one back, then I would find a local shop who does pin striping or someone who could paint the letters in black professionally, then get it clear coated so it lasts.

Just my $.02

Yeah I considered that option

So I got an idea, what if you were to wrap that entire emblem with masking tape, and compress the tape on there really tight to where you could faintly see ,"Hemi," poking through, then take an exacto knife, and cut out the letters hemi. Then paint the letters, and remove the rest of the masking tape. Should work great if you take your time. If you don't like it, just take some paint stripper to it.

Either paint it yourself or get a vinyl guy to cut up some black vinyl that says HEMI???

Thought about both of those options, not sure about either of em.

Well a vinyl guy will be able to scan/ take a picture of the badge and make a exact copy of the letters and should fit on there with no issues and get the expensive vinyl that will last

I personally think it will look good with it on the truck the way it is. It will be nice and subtle, but people will still see it when they get close. In my other posts I was just trying to think of a way for you to get it the way you originally wanted it. But either way will look good.

Well I am going for it, I can always strip it back off.

Well that didnt work, the finish on this thing, im not sure what they used but the paint wouldnt stick, im going to the decal shop tomorrow, see what they say.

They probably put some form of oil or wax on it to protect the finish. Should have scuffed it up lightly or used a wax/oil stripper. All good though.

Well its anodized, whatever that means

Yeah, can't really paint that then, its electronic application process.

Wow, so I had some black gloss vinyl from when I did my door pillars. I tried that, and even that wont stick to it!

Guess this is the way its gonna stay, it looks good, just woulda been better with the black wording.
