I confirmed with Hooters today and I am emailing them tomorrow with the details.
Planning the greet for April 23rd from 5-8, or later if you want to stay longer. I also wanted your thoughts on doing a raffle similar to last nights, either for Breast Cancer or Leukemia.
I can see about having someone from Moffitt come out, 40% goes to the winner, 55% to Moffitt and 5% back to SEM for another show.
Let me know your thoughts and who is coming. I asked Kevin to see if JaxWax would be willing to come. Thanks.

We need to get this deal and what were gonna benefit it to figured out, cause we need to get the word out...Maybe we can get a radio station or something to give us a plug to draw more attention to it, since it will be for a worthy cause.....

I think this should be a "Donation" meet and greet??
People can come donate whatever they want to.
We can have a table/vehicle set up to collect donations, and 75% we will donate, 25% goes to the club.
Thought???

Yes, this will benefit a foundation, whether its going to breast cancer or luekemia, we are unsure yet...but we need to spread this show, info like a head cold....sneeze on everyone....

Its going to Benefit both. These charities sure wont mind any money coming in.....
We already have a vendor set up...Tampa Jax Wax....They are donating some of their products to raffle off.

My company, Amalie Oil Company...will be donating 2 cases of Amalie Oil to be raffled off for the event...

I had a Long convo with the Management yesterday from Hooters. I have to email them tonight when I get home.
This event has NOT been approved yet. I say again, They (Hooters) still need approval from their Corp office.

Because it is private property (even tho it is still vacant, its still owned by someone) and we'd be tresspassing and the Hooters mgmt said there have been trucks and people working in the building lately...like renovating so its currently not as vacant as earlier...
And not for nothing, if Hooters ends up NOT cooperating, than I wouldnt want to bring them any business by hosting the event next to them anyway...
If they end up backing out, Im going to go talk to the people over at The Cop Shop in oldsmar...

another charity that needs support and get people interested is the st. jude childrens cancer hospital and research center. i donate to them often. maybe not for this showing but a future one

hooters approves everyone why the fuss now? do you guys have burger street down there? they are pretty synonymous with car shows.... isnt superchips around there? a car show at their place or with a sponsorship would be awesome.

Superchips is actually in Sanford, which is north east of Orlando...Hooters, at least the ones around here are synonymous with cruise in's...right along with Quaker Steak and Lube

Thats why we are saying upfront that 75% will go to charity and the club will keep 25%.
We (SEM) need to start to get some money and this is a good way to do it! We arent asking for people to give us money, but should they feel the need than they do.
Its a win win. The charities wont be upset even if we give them 20 bucks....its all money they didnt have...and we can get a little on the side for merch...

even with 25% coming to the club it is still non profit. the money isnt going into anyones personal pocket but will help fund future ventures to put on bigger shows with more participants more vendors more donations more shows more participants more vendors more donations more shows..... eveything being done at sem is for the love of mopar and hanging out with great people but that isnt alwasy free or cheap.

Thats a very good point Mike...I keep forgetting about SEM being a NPO...

The powers that be (if they havent already) should look into getting us registered as a NPO...it would benefit us greatly.
I have looked into it breifly, and Car Clubs come by day and go by night.... from what i have seen and spoken to from other buddies that own carclubs, its hard to classify a car club as a NPO....

i was thinking the same thing Kev, about the cop shop, they love cruise ins and im sure i could get it there if hooters backs out i would just need a lil advance notice not 3 days before...and for what its worth i have tried to claim us as a npo, and get us other things like a tax id and stuff like that....
I know the owners of the Cop Shop...Ill follow up with Hooters on Monday and see where we stand....and we can go from there.

Well hell, you seem to know everyone...I have met a few ppl who work there so i figured i could call in a favor, and speak with mngmnt, but you seem to have that already....
I was talking to my coworker who is Really up to date with all that NPO mumbojumbo and he is gonna do some research for me....

The cop shop does do a monthly show now the last one[which was the first one] was on march 30th which was rained out,it's put on by the same guy that was doing the perkins show by my house.Just a FYI type thing.

Well I just got off the phone with Hooters MGMT and he said that him and his PR group dont think Saturday would be a good day for a show...so they are declining us being able to host it there...
He said if we want to do it on a tuesday night or a thursday night, than thats a MAYBE...
So...
I am going to talk to the people at the Cop Shop now....any other ideas???
OK after being dicked around with Hooters they are out.
The owner of Oldsmar's Cop Shop is stepping up. He said he would love to have us. He is even going to work with us and offer % discounts off of food with donations. He ALSO put me in contact with this guy who is hosting a Monthly car show /cruise in at the end of each month at the Cop Shop. This guy is ALSO going to advertise for us and also going to bring some people to our Donation Drive!
Im making up the official flyer now.

On the Hooters deal, sounds like they wanted us to do it on a typicaly "slow" business day for them, to help boost their sales...

yea, if you are heading west on Hillsborough, it turns into Tampa Rd as soon as you cross Racetrack Rd. The cop shop is about 4 miles further down on the right
