What kind of mileage are you guys with the 4.7's? I found an '02 RCSB for a damn good deal and I'm thinking about getting it for my DD. This 9MPG I'm getting in mine is gonna get expensive this summer if gas gets high as everyone says it is. Just wondering if it's worth it or not?

well I'm currently averaging a steady 12.8 or 13.0, sometimes get on the gas a little (trying to get out from behind people eating crap while driving) and I will be down approximate 12.3, so all in all oveer 12 on average

I say if you can't get over 20MPG then it's not worth it. I say maybe put more attention into your current engine to maximize the economy. Maybe regear it.

Mine is back up to 16 per gal. she scared me earlier this week and fell to 13. I will attribute that to getting some bad fuel.:hmm:

No more of that crap in my truck for sure! after I put fuel from my "Regular" station in it improved.

My 5.2 is picky on it's fuel. And it just isn't a random one off occurrence either. EVERY time I fill up at Sunoco my truck runs like shit and gets less mileage. But when I fill up at Cumberland Farms, she runs GREAT and gets 17-18 MPG.

My dad has the same problem with his 5.2 actually, at first we didnt realize it was the fuel making the truck run like it did

The only thing I can think of is the amount of ethanol and the 5.2 is more sensative to it. I mean, being in the oil business, I know the quality of gasoline differs from refinery to refinery, but it shouldnt make the engine run THAT mush different.
