What I'm wanting to do is put a set of 35's on my truck after finally finding a set of wheels I like.
Specs:
# Size: 16x8
# Offset: 10mm
# Backspacing: 4.92"

Would these work without any rubbing issues or am I going to have to spend another 6 months looking for more wheels?

Also, this will be after I level the front of the truck

Thanks man. I'll post up some pics when I get it back from the shop tomorrow. Here's a pic of the new tires next to the truck. They look huge compared to the 265's that are on there now

Oo man!! those will look killer on that truck, cant wait to see the pics of it on the truck, and when I got my 285s they made the 265s look plenty small so can only imagine those

Just leaving the stock 16's on there for now. I've got better things to do with that money than new wheels lol. At least for now anyways. There's a few small things that I need to do to mine before I drop some money on new wheels. Heater core needs to be replaced, headliner is sagging on a couple corners, drivers side window might need a new regulator. Basically stuff I wouldn't normally fix on my own lol

I think I know someone with those actually, they sound very familiar and I am not too sure if its on my brother in laws truck. They will look great on your truck, they have a real nice tread to them, how much did they run you if you dont mind me asking?

They were $711 shipped from tirerack.com.

Finally got her back. Might need an inch block in the rear but I'll give it a couple weeks to settle down

Looks good!!!

Looks a little saggy in the rear, I see what you mean...

I dont think there is anything to settle down tho...you just did tires, right?

That looks REALLY good...and yeah, nothing should "settle" unless you did coils, then they would settle a tad, but not much.

Sorry, just seen this...

They are Pitbull Rockers 39.5x16.5x20

Pitbull tires run 1 inch wider and 1 inch taller than listed tho so be careful!

New shocks all the way around and a 2" coil spacer in the front. These Monroe shocks had a note with then about them settling an inch or so after about 500 miles

No problem. When I ordered mine, they had this style and the "classic" style with the sheet metal across the bottom like everyone has

And its also a chevy thing, I see alot of chevy's around here with the bulldog stance.

Damn Mark that was a pretty damn good price for the tires, and they look freaking amazing on your truck, deffinitely way better than 265s lol. The truck looks much better and I agree you should atleast put a 1 inch block in the rear IMO

For some reason dodge coil spacers actually give more lift than stated. I have exactly 2 inch spacers in the front of my truck and It provided me with 3+ inch of lift for some reason. I'm deffinitely not complaining and I had the bulldog stance so I put 2 inch blocks in the rear and now I sit with a slight rake of about half an inch or 1 inch, Idk if its different in the 2nd gen cause I have a 3rd gen.

I think it's just a Ram thing lol. Before the spacers, the front end sat a little less than 2" lower than the rear. I haven't measured it yet, but the front looks to be around 1 1/2" or more taller than the rear. I'll go get measurements in the morning when I take some better pics

When you put the block in the back, did you notice any difference in ride quality? I know a 1" block won't change much, if any. I'm just kinda weary of them because I still use my truck as a daily and I'd like to keep from jarring my toddlers teeth out lol

I have over 10 inches of lift, and my truck rides smooth for what it has. Jay has been in it a few times you can ask him even...

I doubt you would even notice if you blocked it

The only thing I've ever ridden in that had a block lift rode like crap. I did notice that the rear end sagged quite a bit with the 300lbs of tires in the rear so I'll probably be better off with a helper spring or AAL anyways. Hopefully, they'll be a lot of trailer towing goin on this summer

Guess it is a ram thing (I'm sure as hell not complaining about more lift than expected)

Well like I said I put in a 2 inch block in the rear and I'm actually still riding stock shocks in the rear (I'll eventually get new ones to match the front) and I will say it did not change my ride quality at all. It still rides as it did before even with the stock shocks extended out the way they are. I'm just sure with new shocks would ride better. I also use my truck as a daily driver btw, you will be absolutely fine with a 1 inch block, but there are other alternatives such as add a leafs but I hear they stiffen up the ride quality.

I'll talk to the guy that owns the shop that did the install next time I see him. Like I said, it sagged a lot for less than 300lbs in the back, and I plan on pulling a boat or a trailer with a couple of 4-wheelers

Couple more pics

Daaamn bro those tires are so freaking sweeeet!! Makes me wish I would have gone 35s when i got my tires, and as for sagging I dont really tow much but have carried a considerable amount of weight in the bed of the truck, I would say I have had a good maybe 400 pounds in there with no noticeable sagging, only noticeable once when I carried around 1200+ pounds of concrete lol

txbass06
03-02-2011, 01:20 AM
Lol thanks man. I like them a lot. A buddy of mine suggested them as a good aggressive tire that I wouldn't have any problems with on pavement.

I'm not planning on towing a helluva lot of weight. Just a 16' trailer with 2 4-wheelers or a 18' ski boat

You will have no problem with blocks as long as you stay away from aluminum ones...get the steel ones...blocks are put into the rears of these trucks from the factory
